Nancy Yen, Student Affairs Counselor, Shares in Semester Launch Seminar

It’s the beginning of a new academic year, and the next cohort of enrolled students have arrived at ICID. To help them adjust, a special seminar on stress management for graduate students was added to the required course curriculum. Leading it was the licensed counseling psychologist in the Office of Student Affairs assigned to ICID, Nancy Yen.

Nancy began the seminar by sharing a set of diverse scenario cards. She invited the students to draw upon them to talk about how they express and manage stress. Afterwards, Nancy discussed common challenges students encounter and shared professional coping strategies. She also introduced the support resources of NCKU’s Counseling and Wellness Services Division. She then encouraged the students to familiarize with these issues and urged them to use the school’s support systems.

Overall, the opening seminar ended with an atmosphere of mutual trust and familiarity. We wish our new ICID students a positive and healthy life during their graduate studies!
